Primarily used for everyday office wear and taking the dog out. Wearable to the office with a fresh brushing/polish. But the finish is worry free enough to wear in rainy or muddy conditions.
Rubber midsole makes the break in easy. Leather lined foam insoles have held up just fine. The waxed finish makes for almost instant patina in the first month. After a few months, patina seemed to plateau a bit. Every other month I applied some Saphir shea butter based neutral polish. The finish on the welt seemed to break down the quickest.
Comfortable last. Much sleeker than blundstones, which makes for a bit tighter around the pinky toes. Took about two weeks before heel slip went away ans rolls started setting in.
Overall, construction is good for the price. Only things I would look for would be a better finished welt and a bit straighter back stay. At a higher price point, I would hope for would be a leather/cork midsole. I'd be excited to see if they would offer this leather in their new wholecut makeup.
Pretty durable. Traction is good in the rain but poor in the snow. I wasn't expecting more than that. The commando sole is shallow enough to shed caked on mud.
I thought the clicking was good. The leather has character and grain in all the right places. They kept the wavy grain in the heel. And vamp was smooth, and rolls developed better than expected.
