Snug around the foot up to the toebox where it opens up for a more roomy fit. The heels are roomy but not concerningly. Overall very comfortable.

Why I own this

Collaboration
Style

This was a happy accident. I live in Spokane and wanted to go down to Nicks one day to get sized and see what was in the store stock. At the time I didnt see anything that was both in my size and a boot I wanted. After waiting a few days I saw that a member on the subreddit said they snagged a new pair of ND3 boots (Sept 24) and that had me curious. I jumped online and saw they had my size ready to go. I snagged them and picked them up within 24hrs. These are my grail boots and I never thought id get to own them. My intro into all of this was from Rose Anvil and im quite lucky to say I will be Dome'ing these this year!

Other

I work in a medium pace cafe with a decent length of days. I get to sit down during my commute to and from work. These fit more underneath slimmer leg'd pants like my N&F jeans in Easy Guy, tech chinos from OldNavy, and a few others. You will stand out if you're wearing a lighter-weight pant with these.

Care Routine
Durability

Waxed flesh has to be one of the best choices for a work enviornemnt that sees anything from food waste to harsh cleaning products. Half of my wardrobe has bleach stians, but these boots dont show any signs of chemical damage. I love not haveing to baby this boot, its going to hold up to almost anything I have to do in them. A thick leather dose take time to break-in and you can see the toes starting to curl a bit. A little bit of brushing and a damp cloth to get rid of any residue is all it needs.

Seidel 1964 Brown

Its just a patch and its going well.

Satisfied with the Fit

This boot fits under my slimmer jeans, sits at the same height as my standard DT hike socks, and fits like a glove. I've kept the kilties in as they did snug up the heels on the left foot. The width is right on and I don't have to worry about my foot stretching over the welt by mid-day. The leather doesn't breathe as much as casual leather would, but it is still a solid option. I wouldn't recommend using a liner with this. Every few days my ankles feel a tad tight but goes awya when leather warms up.

Stitching

The midsole is potentially an issue for some boot nerds but mostly its perfectly fine. The lineman patch doesn't get much use but only a small amount of boot users actually need a lineman patch. The stitching is great and I haven't had to cut any lose threads after the 2nd mounth.

Sole & heel

Comfort
Traction

The soles: Max wedge is still the quietest and cleanest-looking soles I have for my daily boots. The toe and heel foam have been slightly abraded as I have gotten down on my knees and slammed my heel into different things. At first I was worried that in water the foam would take on water and start to delaminate but it's holding up well. On sheet ice, it wasn't able to keep a grip but on other wet or semi slick surfaces it was decent. Overall I'd be fine with this sole on any work boot with work leather. It's not going to be my pick for a casual option as it simply doesn't look casual. I'm rocking these with the stock halfsock liner and nothing else. Footbed: My only downside with this boot is the midsole, but I wouldn't be aware of that if I didn't already have other boots with a full leather midsole in them. The rubber midsole does reduce the comfort of this boot in favor of durability. I can tell after 5 hours in this boot that the rubber starts to not give back to my foot as much as my leather midsole boots do. This is mitigated by the thick veg-tan slip sole which has taken a good imprint of my foot so far and on the foamy outsole it's not a real issue other than comfort.

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

Im pleased so far with this leather and finishing quality. Im excited to see what my next Nicks will be. Also how can you not think these are super cool?
