Oak Street Bootmakers
Field Boot
Huckberry
Wore these last year as my alternative to my dome boots ( they were my alternate ) so they got got considerable wear bur showed almost nothing. This took 2 years of wearing to finally get patina to show without going out of my way to damage( patina) them to FORCE a patina . Not sure how every one else does it with horse hide ...
Wore as daily as my feet would allow . Brushed after every wear and allowed to dry out if they became soaked . Haven't conditioned them in 2 years until a week before this year's deadline. The monthly got wiped down with a damp cloth and never stopped brushing them . One conditioning on the non roughout parts ( rump shell ) and nothing on the roughout. ( used bicks 4) .
This Elston last fits me really good . Heel is shaped right with a good curvy heal and back stay . Toe box is roomier than it looks and the waist hugs my instep nicely.
Fit and finish are very good . Stitches are tight , no loose threads even with constant brushing . This is boondocker esque with a healthy dose of service boot .
Really comfortable , not hard and jarring.
If you can find these and the Elston last fits you then grab them up , especially in this reverse MARYAM horsebutt! They take awhile to get the patina to show ( not a bad thing ) , but when it does its a masterpiece in contrasts .
