I've worn them everywhere from day to day, in the snow, hiking, mountain climbing, even to out to bars and clubs. They're made by Paraboot so they're pretty well built for everything. However, they might not be a summer boot as I typically wear them with wool socks.
Half of the leather is rough out and the other is shell. It's held up significantly well through rain and rocky hiking trails. I would say they're more fashion boots with the leather but ultimately I can use them with everything. I used Saphir to maintain the shell and brushed the rough out portion with a suede brush. I would say the leather darkened significantly after month 3. Especially after I wore them in snow in Montreal. Going from a smooth taupe to a weathered brown.
I sized up to a 44F width and found the boots to fit exceptionally well when wearing thicker socks. I often used them for outdoor activities and snow so it was very important for them to be comfortable over hours of use
A few errant threads on the boots and I would say the tongue could have used more gusseting than half the length. The tongue would move to the side as I wore them and sometime my laces would come undone. Overall they're pretty great, especially the clicking and welt stitching. Liner has not had a single issue the whole time.
The heel has held up to a lot of abuse and it's barely worn down from almost daily wear and incline use. I'm quite astonished I might not need a resole until years later
I got these boots form the factory in Avignon, France with one of my best friends I made from this community. We got matching leather boots (he got the hiker and I got the combat boot) and it's a particular memory I hold close to my heart because I never would have believed I'd have seen part of the world with someone I met from this community. The boot signifies my friendship with him and the fact that the boot itself is amazing quality makes it even better knowing I can wear it for years and think of my time in France traveling in a car rental. In regards to Paraboot themselves they were nothing but class from walking in to buying the boots. I really enjoyed my time talking to the associates in broken French and learning more about the history of the brand!
