I mainly wear them for school and work. I live in Boston so they have been with me through the harsh winter and came out all the better for it!
The change in color was stark over the first two months or so, but slowed down over time. The break in was quite rough—the toe crease was especially painful. But a round of conditioning made the process so much better.
These fit me almost perfectly. I like the length and the room in the toe box. I was initially worried that the instep might have been too low (and still wonder if it is). I can't tell if the lacing gap is too wide. But I'm not terribly bothered by it.
The construction is top notch. One speed hook has gotten somewhat loose, but I'm not worried about it. Two things that I find mildly annoying: (1) the laces that came with the boots were too short so I always have to skip the last pair of speedhooks, and (2) the tongues are too short (and in my case the lengths are uneven across the pair).
Despite some minor issues, I'm incredibly happy with them and would highly recommend Parkhurst. I love my boots and I can't wait to see how they age over time!
