These have been my daily wear at work and around town.
This leather has worn in very nicely and has required very little maintenance. It broke in pretty quickly (I’d say around 2 months), and has become soft and supple in the last couple months. The crease lines didn’t take long at all to develop, and are still getting more comfortable by the month. My care routine consists of a light coat of Limmer Boot Grease once a month, preceded by a cleaning with a brush and a damp cloth. The grease has deepened the hue of the leather, which I like. I think it’s added to the patina in a nice way.
These boots fit great! They fit snugly from the ankle to the ball, with ample room in the toe box. The leather insole has broken in nicely as well, giving a soft feeling and nice support underfoot. There’s great arch support, and enough play in the width of the tongue opening to allow for socks of various thicknesses.
I think these are a great semi casual boot. Lighter and more flexible than a standard Limmer, which makes them great for everyday use, but still up for work or a hike if need be. The lack of ankle padding also makes them look a little sleeker than typical Limmers, which I think is nice for casual wear. I’m also enjoying the way the leather midsoles have softened and aged with use.
The Vibram 100 rocks! A great combination of grippy, rugged and flexible
These have worn faster than the forepart. Glad the heels are a separate piece.
These were a fun boot to make and are a pleasure to wear
