These were ordered at the trunk show during the Stitchdown Boot Camp event 2024. I don’t know who makes his heel caps, but they are Role Club branded. Maybe Dr Soles? Anyway, the lead time is usually much longer if not purchased at a trunk show like that. Also, I think this leather is actually a natural CXL horsehide overdyed black, but everyone else just lists them as black.Use & wear
I wore them to work at the hospital mostly. Lots of miles but not a lot of hard use. The clean up beautifully and were comfortable on long shifts.
Leather
Some wearing of the overdye on the toe late in the game. I just don’t abuse my footwear so it will take a while before we see the real aging.
Fit
Not enough arch for me. I added a Padag 3/4 insert for arch. Otherwise, the fit is very good. Just a little tight in the toes for a long low volume foot.
Craftsmanship
Top notch. Really some of the best in the world.
Sole & heel
I love leather sole. The embossing was so cool. It’s all gone now except at the arch, but it was beautiful. The leather is very durable.
Heal wear seems good. Good traction.
Final thoughts
These were a grail pair for me, and I’m finally getting some wear on them, but I feel like they still have a lot more to go. The toe still hasn’t collapsed, and not much toe spring. I think I just don’t get them wet often enough. My lifestyle and work just isn’t hard on the upper which is good in the long run. I’m just going to wear them a long time to see the full process.
