Role Club
It’s important to realize that I LOVE CXL. Navy VXL may be my favorite leather. So I am biased. I feel like the break in time was minimal. I was able to wear them all day 12+ hours of wear (mostly standing) immediately. There was some initial soreness, as with any new shoes, but it was manageable. Navy CXL ages amazingly. It gains a rich depth over time, like looking into deep but clear water. There are layers to the color. It scuffs nicely. And it bounces back with very little work, a little leather cream and they look great. The shift in color over time isn’t drastic, it’s more subtle you notice the change, they seem to glow a little, but you will always see a pair of blue boots. We all talk about how much better the leather looks with wear, I think Navy CXL demonstrates this feature of leather better than any other.
Flawless.
It’s held up really well. It’s grippy and comfortable. Sometimes my knees wished it was soft rubber instead of hard. Even after six months of regular wear there’s a lot of life left in the sole and heel.
I can’t say enough good about Role Club boots. They are my favorite (non cowboy boot) bootmaker. I would recommend them to anyone looking. The lead time can be intimidating, but it is worth it. The quality is incredible.
