Walked about 500 miles total in these on mostly concrete/asphalt and they held up better than anything else in the closet. And because they were made to measure, the fit was absolutely on point and made this incredibly comfortable. Kiri makes some of the best boots in the hobby and the way these things settled in over time is a testament to her designing things not necessarily for how they will look new, but rather how they will look over time.
The leather is metta catharina embossed veg tanned horsebutt from an Italian tannery known cordovan.co. It still smells like birch tar and the leather held up phenomenally. The shell portions were used in the vamps and was pretty stiff and the strip portions were a bit more pliable and soft. Kiri lined the quarters due to this softness and that turned out to be a great idea. If this were a welted boot, the vamps would not need to be lined. I would love to procure some more leather from cordovan.co to make other pairs.
They are made to measure and fit like it. They are perfect.
Kiri does phenomenal work. Not a single stitch is out of place and the edges held up better than any other pair I domed. Her work is immaculate.
Not much to say about Dr Sole supergrip other than it’s a well wearing sole that we all love. You can easily get 500 miles out of a heel and ~2000 miles out of a sole.
Do yourself a favor and get on her books. She is without a doubt the best value out there for something that is made to measure. You won’t regret it.
