Østmo x Iron Boots
Drop 12: Type I
Iron Boots
These boots have had a hell of a winter. Mainly worn in Wisconsin, but also worn on trips to NYC, Montana, and Chicago. As this pair is owned by an amateur wildlife photographer, these boots have gotten miles on numerous conservancies, wildlife refuges, bird sanctuaries, and parks. They’ve walked on dirt trails, snowy sidewalks, out on the ice on lakes, and paired with microspikes to run through slippery dog parks. They’ve hiked through farmland to chase hawks, and the streets of New York City for work conferences.
Break-in was easy, I barely noticed it. My care routine thus far has just been wiping and brushing off salt and dirt - I intentionally chose not to baby them, and they’re looking great. Some areas around the toes that get some abrasion has started to lighten and possibly show some of the natural leather under the dye, but I think that just adds character.
Wonderful craftsmanship, no notes. Everything has held up extremely well.
These boots are so difficult to photograph and really capture their color. Too much or too little light and the photos feel off from what I see. It’s been a challenge!
