Tricker's
Burford Country Boot
W2298 Last: 8.5
Living in the Northern Michigan snow belt, after last year I decided I wanted something waterproof this year. Found this pair of new old stock from 2019 in waxy commander and here we are ready to go.
Used the same size Tricker's I normally wear. Fit is as it should be.
Wore for everything. To work, walking the dogs, exploring my hunting property, etc. It's been a cold, wet, snowy winter so the boots have experienced significant challenges.
I chose these boots specifically for the waxy commander leather, because it is waterproof. I can confirm they are definitely waterproof, been through more than a few puddles and even hiked in knee high snow. Everything else got wet but not my feet. Being a black leather it doesn't show much in the way of change, and what change it has is difficult to photograph. The leather has held up well and required zero care from me.
Sizing was correct for me, although the toe box felt a little wide if I had on thin socks. Overall satisfied with the fit and comfort.
Beautiful boots. Only concern was the tongue of the right boot kept sliding to the side. Ended up cutting holes through the tongue and fed the shoelaces through it. After a couple of months the tongue was trained to stay in place, problem solved. Durability is exceptional, if you don't look at the sole you wouldn't know how much they've been through..
Durability is long lasting. Traction has been great for wet, snowy conditions. Comfort is good except when indoors on tile flooring, they tend to feel a bit firm. They also like to come home with souvenirs stuck in the tread after taking walks.
Overall very happy with the boots. Tricker's makes great boots and I will choose to purchase more.
