Break-in was more or less non-existent. I put them on day-one and they just continue to get more and more comfortable. I haven’t conditioned them yet. I haven’t felt the need to.

Satisfied with the Fit

I normally wear a 6.5. Truman Boot does not offer that small of a size, so I went with 7D. They fit absolutely perfectly. There’s a perfect amount of toe space. The insole support is like no other boot I have ever worn. I feel zero fatigue at the end of the day. It’s crazy to wear a boot that is a few pounds, but you don’t really notice that they are on.

I found out about this competition late in the game. I wasn’t ready to commit to $600-$800 for some of the other Pacific Northwest boot brands. I selected these boots on a whim because of the price and color. They were $410. My honest assessment is I can’t imagine how a $600-$800 boot could be more comfortable or better built than these. The leather thickness is just about perfect. It is both supple and durable. The stitching on these boots is flawless. I could not find one stitch out of place. I’m not a big guy, so I can’t really detect any sole wear at this point. The shape of the last and the geometry of the heel to sole seems about perfect. I don’t feel like I’m leaning back or leaning forward. These are definitely everything I could have desired and more for $410. I really just wanted a good pair of boots that I didn’t really need to think about. Just lace them up, and go to work and appreciate them as they age. I honestly didn’t really know the term patina until this competition 😆. Participating here has been enjoyable as it has allowed me to pause and analyze the boots every now and then. Great competition! Thanks to Stitchdown for putting it on 👌🏼

Very good. Excellent traction I’m not a very big guy, so at this rate I think I will get a few years out of these soles. They are incredibly comfortable.

The heel block is as comfortable and durable as the sole itself. I really feel that these boots are balanced perfectly.

Final thoughts

Good Value
Would Recommend

I put most of my thoughts above already. Like I said before, I believe these are an amazing value for the price. I can’t imagine more expensive boots to be that much better built or comfortable compared to these. $410 feels like a steel. Kudos to Truman Boot for making such an affordable and well-made boot. I highly recommend these!
