Satisfied with the Fit

This is my 3rd pair of White's boots but my first custom order. My choice of the C461 last was two fold (take advantage of the full customisation experience) and more importantly, the aesthetic of the sprung toe. My other White's boots are on the 1972 last (perry select) and the mp last - both in 9.5. While I can and have worn each of those for extended periods without issue, neither of them prepared me for the comfort of the C461. This last may be the perfect last for me. Sized half down from HTT Brannock to a 10, these boots feel like nothing I have worn before. The arch is just high enough so you know it's there and giving my feet a stability that makes the boot feel a part of my feet and very firmly grounded.

Stitching

These are my first LTT boots and I'm glad that they are as they set a standard for everything else that may follow. I'd been eyeing the 350 Cutter as I thought it a beautiful design - chunky, proportional and commanding. I think the 7" shaft without the pull loops adds sleekness as an exclamation point to an already attractive design. I chose the handwelted stitchdown as an indulgence and couldn't be happier as the cleanness of the finishing makes looking at the stitching a pleasure - it is not machine perfect but this pair is the perfect example of handmade craftsmanship. White's takes a beating in the forums for their QC and it can be justified ( my Perrys are missing a stitch where the wall meets the vamp) but the two pairs since, including this one have been as near to perfect as handwork can be. Maybe the added step of having ordered from Baker's brought another QC process to bear on these, but there's absolutely no fault for me to find.
