They have been just the ticket walking along river banks and the seashore. I have done yard work in them, and worn them around the docks at my rowing club. I have also worn them for day trips into NYC. They are not fancy, and I could only wear them to my workplace on the occasional days when office attire wasn’t expected. Cold, wet winter weather isn’t where these boots shine: This was not a surprise. But we had a fairly mild winter, and I was still able to wear them with pleasure every week. But like many domers, most of the miles put on these were around my neighborhood while walking my dog. To justify the cost, I knew I needed a pair of boots that were worth it. These boots are worth it.

The surface was already smudged by insect bites and abrasions in a couple places. I was tempted to baby these boots.
I'm glad I didn't.
For most of these boot's life, I worked at a food bank. They've have tracked through broken asphalt muck and reservation dust, and carry scratches from tumbleweed thorns. The first wear the soles got was endless trips back and forth between hard concrete and office carpet. Carrying boxes. Dragging pallets. Apparently I scuff the insides of my heels – I know there's a term for that, I've never learned it – these boots are a biography of my working life.
Later, in the early months of 2024, I transitioned to a hybrid work from home gig. I consider myself lucky and unlucky now, now. Less heavy lifting at work is a double edged sword. I hike my laptop out to parks and overlooks in these boots, to break up the monotony of the day. My boots are my companions – trusted coworkers. I hang out with them after we clock out, walk the local trail system in the evenings and watch the trees bloom into spring...."Read the full review

I have a history of wearing shoes out, breaking uppers, wearing clean through soles. While these guys are about ready for new heal rubber, everything else is holding up extremely well. Nearly constant daily ware, no problem. I occasionally cleaned and brushed them as needed and recently had them shined. I plan on wearing them for many years to come.
