Not much to say honestly, it's a solid PNW boot

But after a few weeks they mellowed out to a nice reddish brown. They're quite supportive since Frank's lines all non work leathers. A few months into this I did condition the vamps and counter covers with heated neatsfoot oil, which at first looked like I dyed them dark but they lightened up quite a bit in the following weeks...."Read the full review

From basically day one, they were more comfortable than the three pairs of Red Wings I also have. I didn’t nothing special for care. Frank's Front Range in Wickett & Craig Chestnut English BridleBy evsnova74 • February 23, 2025"I had the leather choice down to English bridle chestnut or oiled Latigo chestnut, and felt that I couldn't go wrong with either one. Ultimately I went with the EB chestnut because I didn't have any boots in that shade, and figured that after the oiled Latigo in that color aged it would end up just looking like any other brown boot. I later found an amazing pair in this leather from last year's dome that just solidified my choice. It seems plenty durable for me, scratches and scuffs reveal a lighter orange color underneath, and after oiling them they've mellowed to a nice almost burgundy hue. Frank's lines all of their non work leathers so it's plenty stiff even after a few months of wear. All in all I'm quite happy with the selection...."Read the full review

Daily brushing and dusting it off. Only a couple coats of conditioner applied with one being heavy application with a day to let it sink in.

Nicks Free Range in Wickett & Craig Natural Double StuffedBy Pale_Highl1ight • April 2, 2024"I was very surprised by the break-in. The VegTan is incredibly stiff at first. I was a bit intimidated before the first wear. However, about halfway through the first day, the stiffness was no longer noticeable. I went full bore, very first day boots were on my feet for 14 hours.
The most interesting thing was watching the leather transform from a pale yellow tan to a deep rich multi- tonal brown. I took pictures every other day. You can literally see the color "melting" down into the boot. Documenting every other day has really showcased the leather!
This has been very easy to care for and maintain. The Double Stuffed is just packed with so many tallows and conditioners, that they do all the hard work. If they're muddy, I'll wipe em with a damp cloth. Then brush em with a horsehair brush. If there's caked up mud anywhere, I'll use a nylon brush, then damp cloth, then horsehair. That's about it though. I have only applied a conditioner one time. That was just little dabs of Smith's at the main flex points, after the 3 days of rain. They haven't needed anything else.
Everyone was so skeptical at first when I entered these. Cringed at Wickett and Craig being entered into the Work Dome. I had no fear. I intended to put these boots, and this leather to the absolute test! Aside from chemicals, I have exposed these to just about everything! Worth Every Penny
White's Bounty Hunter in Wickett & Craig Tan Oiled LatigoBy bootsnstuff • April 5, 2025"Leather was very, very stiff out of the box. Took about a month and a half for it to really soften up. At this point they're very supportive but otherwise fit like a glove. WC Latigo is almost the perfect boot leather. They changed from being nearly orange to a nice light brown after 6 months. I conditioned them once in January with Smith's leather balm. The leather drank it up like a sponge but at this point it still feels like it won't need it again for a while...."Read the full review

Smart Versatility
Nicks x Parkhurst V2 in Wickett & Craig Tan Oiled LatigoBy ScuffedUpKicks • April 5, 2025"The leather was gorgeous out of the box. Extreme highs and lows in the pull up. On one of my first wears I was stopped on the street and asked about the leather abd what I was doing to care for them to make them do shiny. The leather was a bit stiff out of the box but it was only challenging when going up and down stairs with the upper shaft bring difficult to flex.
The leather softened up and rolled beautifully. And the color darkened considerably.
Aside from getting the street salt off, no product was used to clean or condition the boots. It took little work to rub scuffs and scrapes out only using my hands...."Read the full review
