AB-03 Chelsea Boots

The AB-03 uses Goodyear welted construction with single stitching at the welt edge. The boots feature a Vibram #269 sole and include a cowhide leather lining with a leather insole for enhanced fit and walking comfort. Additional features include Japanese steel footbed shanks and full leather lining with cushioned heel insoles. Extra leather insoles are included for fit adjustment.

The AB-03 features a thicker sole compared to typical Chelsea boots, providing added durability and a more substantial appearance. Construction quality is notable for very neat stitching with quality components used throughout, and the finish quality is very high with precise trimming.

The AB-03H-ST model uses dye-finished horsehide from North American hides with a custom tanning recipe. The dye-finished leather intentionally showcases unique texture and color unevenness, with horsehide naturally exhibiting more scratches than cowhide. The leather becomes more beautiful and individual with extended wear. The horsehide used is thick but very pliable with subtle grain and color variation.

The AB-03SS-ST variant features steer suede as an alternative to horsehide, while maintaining the same construction standards and last.

The AB-03 measures 5.5 inches in height. The width is D, though it may accommodate E width. Each pair weighs 1,500 grams per pair.

The boots are built on the ST Last, which represents the standard Addict Boots pattern with a low instep and slightly elongated shape. This last provides the foundation for the boot's distinctive fit characteristics.

The AB-03 line includes three distinct models. The AB-03H-ST Horsehide Chelsea Boots are priced at 99,000 Japanese yen. The AB-03SS-ST Steer Suede Chelsea Boots are available for 88,000 yen. The AB-03SH-CL-LW Horsehide Cap Toe Short Chelsea, featuring a cap toe design, is priced at 88,000 yen.

All variations are available in Black and Brown colorways. The size range extends from size seven to 11, including half sizes at 7.5, 8.5, 9.5, and 10.5.

The AB-03 boots are handmade in Sendai, Japan, located approximately three hours north of Tokyo. The manufacturing process represents Japanese craftsmanship standards, utilizing vegetable tanned horsehide leather for the horsehide variants. The Goodyear flat welt construction method employed ensures durability and resolability. Each boot demonstrates quality lasts, construction methods, and materials consistent with Japanese bootmaking traditions.
