Astorflex is a footwear manufacturer based in Castel d'Ario, Mantova, Italy. The company was founded in 1820.
Astorflex began in 1820 when the Travenzoli family established a footwear business in Castel d'Ario, Mantova, Italy. During its early years, the company produced handmade shoes with leather uppers and wooden soles. After World War I, the company operated as "Fratelli Travenzoli" and adopted the "Ideal" method, which uses outer stitching along the edge of the sole. In 1984, Fabio Travenzoli became the head of the company as the sixth generation of the family. His son, Giulio Travenzoli, has since joined the business, representing the seventh generation.
Astorflex manufactures its shoes in Castel d'Ario, Italy. The production process uses techniques that allow for the creation of flexible footwear.
Astorflex uses Italian leather for shoe uppers. Tanneries in Tuscany supply the company with the leather. The lining and insoles are made from vegetable-tanned calf leather, processed with water, oak bark, and mimosa. The company does not use chemical dyes or color finishes in the tanning process. Most soles are made from natural rubber obtained from the latex of Hevea brasiliensis trees. The assembly of shoe parts uses water-based adhesives.
Astorflex produces a range of men's footwear styles. Common models include desert boots, Chelsea boots, lace-up shoes, hiker boots, sneakers, and weatherproof boots. These shoes are manufactured at the company's facilities in Italy.
