Construction
The Pull-Top Moc employs 360 stitchdown construction, which BHHB describes as "elegant yet robust." This construction method allows the boots to be easily resoled, extending their functional lifespan. Design and specifications
Documented examples of the Pull-Top Moc feature the Mustang Last, though BHHB's made-to-order process likely allows for last customization. Leather options
One documented example uses Seidel Oxblood Double Shot leather from Seidel Tanning Corp. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This hot-stuffed, combination-tanned pullup leather weighs seven ounces with deep scarlet coloring and burgundy tones with hints of aubergine. The pullup characteristic causes the color to lighten when the leather is folded or creased, creating a two-tone effect. The leather has a smooth, glossy finish with a buttery yet firm feel, and is rated 8/10 for patina potential as the brown core reveals over time with heavy wear.
Customization process
BHHB operates on a made-to-order basis, working directly with customers to determine sizing, leather selection, lace choice, stitching color, eyelet style, and sole selection. This collaborative approach allows each pair to be tailored to customer preferences while maintaining the core design elements of the Pull-Top Moc model. All boots are handmade from scratch in BHHB's Nelson, British Columbia workshop.
