The Worker Boots is manufactured in Portugal at a small factory that specializes in army boots. The boot shares the same last design as Butts and Shoulders' Heritage boot but features a lower upper height.
Design and construction
The Worker Boots uses Goodyear welt construction, a method that allows the boots to be resoled and mold to the wearer's feet over time. The boot is built on a custom-developed last designed by Butts and Shoulders for an optimal fit. The construction includes hand-stitched details on the sides and hand-numbering on the tongue.
The sole is the B-lite rubber sole developed by Butts and Shoulders, inspired by original American workwear boots. The sole design provides enhanced grip for daily wear. Hardware consists of speed hooks and eyelets finished in colors that match the leather.
The boot features a leather lining throughout the interior. Each pair includes two extra sets of laces in dark brown and black, along with a cotton storage bag and key chain.
Materials
The Worker Boots is constructed from natural vegetable-tanned leather processed without chemicals. This tanning method produces leather that develops a patina over time, gradually shifting to a warm cognac color with wear. The chemical-free tanning process allows the leather to age and develop character through use.
The hardware, including speed hooks and eyelets, is finished in colors selected to complement the leather as it develops its natural patina.
Production and release
Butts and Shoulders first presented the Worker Boots at the Selvedge Run trade show in Berlin in January 2018. The model launched to the public in fall 2018, marking the company's second footwear release following the Classic Boots introduced three years earlier.
The initial production consisted of 100 pairs, each individually numbered on the tongue. The boots are manufactured at a small Portuguese factory that specializes in army boot production, though they are designed in the Netherlands.
The size range extends from UK 6 to UK 12. At launch in 2018, the boots retailed for €395 to €399.
