About

The Full-Brogue Jumper Boots 80277 are work boots manufactured by Carmina Shoemaker in Inca, Mallorca, Spain. The boots feature full-brogue wingtip detailing and are constructed using Goodyear welt methods that the Carmina family has employed since 1866. Model 80277 is available on two different lasts and with multiple leather and sole options, making it one of Carmina's most versatile casual boot offerings.

Carmina produces the 80277 on both the Oscar and Llubi lasts, each providing distinct fit characteristics. The boots are handmade in Mallorca using traditional techniques combined with modern quality control, with each pair requiring approximately 75 days from order to completion for certain versions.

Construction

The 80277 uses Goodyear welt construction, a method created by Charles Goodyear in 1869 that involves stitching the upper to a welt, which is then stitched to the sole. This construction method allows the boots to be resoled multiple times throughout their lifespan. Carmina employs a 360-degree welt on versions of the 80277, providing water resistance and structural integrity around the entire boot.

All versions of the 80277 include full calf lining and are built to a standard EE width. The boots come with beechwood shoe trees to help maintain their shape during storage.

Available Lasts

Oscar Last

The Oscar Last features a sturdy and classic profile with a subtly rounded toe and wide toe area. This last works particularly well on shoes produced with thick leather and rubber soles, especially when constructed from Horween Shell Cordovan. As of 2024, Carmina produces 26 different shoe models on the Oscar Last, making it one of the company's most popular last options.

The 80277 on the Oscar Last is available in Chestnut Karagrain leather from Tanneries du Puy with a commando rubber sole and storm welt configuration.

Llubi Last

The Llubi Last is the widest last in Carmina's collection and is considered ideal for casual shoes due to its comfortable fit. Named after the town of Llubi in Majorca, which is known for capers, herbal liqueur, and honey, this last currently appears on nine different shoe models in Carmina's lineup.

The 80277 on the Llubi Last offers the most material variety, including versions in Shell Cordovan, Brown Chromexcel, and other leathers. This last configuration emphasizes comfort and a relaxed aesthetic suitable for casual wear.

Materials and Leathers

Karagrain Leather

The Chestnut Karagrain leather used on some versions of the 80277 comes from Tanneries du Puy, a French tannery founded in 1946 and located in Chadrac, Haute-Loire. Karagrain is a full-grained leather with a pronounced embossed grain that can be felt to the touch, creating a firm texture with a casual appearance. The tannery applies ancestral techniques combined with modern processes to produce leather known for durability, fine grain, and the ability to develop an elegant patina over time.

Shell Cordovan

Shell Cordovan versions of the 80277 use leather from the Horween Leather Company in Chicago. Carmina offers the 80277 in Shell Cordovan in twelve different colors: Rubi, Amaretto, Burgundy Marbled, Green Marbled, Hatch Grain Burgundy, Black, Natural, Bourbon, Armagnac, Green, and Navy. Shell Cordovan provides exceptional durability and develops a distinctive patina through wear.

Chromexcel

Brown Chromexcel is another leather option for the 80277 on the Llubi Last. Chromexcel features a special greased finish resulting from a combination of chrome and vegetable tanning processes. This leather requires a 75-day production timeline for the complete boot.

Sole Options

The 80277 is available with several rubber sole options depending on the last and leather combination:

The commando rubber sole with storm welt appears on the Oscar Last version and is designed for snowy climates or heavy rain conditions. The storm welt configuration provides additional water protection by creating a barrier between the upper and the sole.

The Victoria rubber sole is engineered so that stones and salt will not attach to the sole ridges, making it suitable for urban environments and winter conditions.

Silver rubber soles feature thicker construction with greater texture, providing complete sole protection through enhanced durability.

The Vibram Bologna rubber sole uses Gumlite compound, which combines durability with reduced weight compared to traditional rubber formulations.

Tomir soles are also available on certain configurations of the 80277.

Pricing

As of 2025, the 80277 is available at different price points depending on materials and last selection. The Oscar Last version in Chestnut Karagrain with commando sole retails for 815 dollars. The Llubi Last version in Shell Cordovan is priced at 1,890 dollars, reflecting the premium nature of Shell Cordovan leather. The Llubi Last version in Brown Chromexcel is offered at 426.45 dollars, representing the entry-level pricing for this model.

Sizing

The 80277 is available in UK sizes from five to 14, including half sizes. The standard width is EE across all versions of the model.
