Royal Purple displays a rich purple tone achieved through aniline dyes applied during the chrome tanning process. The leather's wax layer, trapped between natural antiquing and the aniline top finish, creates depth in the purple color while contributing to the semi-shiny finish characteristic of Crazy Cow leathers.

The pull-up properties inherent to Crazy Cow cause the Royal Purple colorway to lighten in color when the leather is stretched during wear. This produces color variation across surfaces where the leather flexes or bends, creating a unique worn-in effect over time as different areas of finished products develop varying shades of purple based on stress points and wear patterns.

Royal Purple Crazy Cow is processed using the same specifications as other Crazy Cow colorways. The leather measures 1.8 to 2.0 millimeters in thickness, equivalent to 4.5 to 5.0 ounces by weight. Individual skins typically range from 12 to 16 square feet in size.

The leather is chrome-tanned from double butt cowhide and features the flesh-out construction that allows use with either the grain or suede side exposed. The leather retains all natural characteristics and features visible on the flesh side.
