Phoenix is distinguished by its waterproof properties and waxed finish. The tannage is fully waterproof, achieved through a production process that combines multiple applications of heavy waxes with oil stuffing. The hides are hand-selected full-weight double-butt cowhides that undergo aniline dying, preserving the leather's soft, natural finish while enhancing its pure aniline character.

The manufacturing process provides a refined finish with a tightened grain break, resulting in robust and durable leather. The waxed cowhide article has a slightly pronounced grain that contributes to its distinctive appearance. The combination of oils and waxes creates leather that is naturally weather-resistant and scuff-resistant, making it well-suited for footwear exposed to various conditions.
