Attractive, easy to style, and hard wearing

At first, the Commando sole felt surprisingly soft, almost sneaker‑like, which made me optimistic. I also ordered two pairs of insoles, but both were too thick for this UK 8 pair (I normally wear US 9 / EU 42). Over time, an uncomfortable pressure point developed between the heel and the sole, pressing into my midfoot. Because of that, I ended up wearing the boots mostly in the garden, where the muddy ground made the grippy sole useful and the pressure point was less noticeable. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this issue until the second month; otherwise, I would have withdrawn the boots from the competition. In the end, I didn’t wear them nearly as often as expected — no outings, no hikes, no office use, mostly just quick garden tasks...."Read the full review

Going up and down steep hills is not uncommon. Some of the dogs I walk are large so I need to be able to keep my footing in all situations and these boots are more than up to the task. I wore them on hikes, did hardwork in them and walked my dog every day in them. Rain, snow and ice, mud...it didn't even phase these things! This leather can take a beating that's for sure. Grant Stone made a real tough and comfortable boot with these! I'm constantly standing and walking on blacktop and the wedge soles held up great and were at home on that surface. I can't recommend these enough! I work at a dealership as an inventory manager and I'm always outside and on the move and they never failed me...."Read the full review

For work, that meant mostly on concrete or the sand/dirt of different test ranges. Since i am the engineer on the projects, my work is not as physical as it used to be. For context, I work on things that "go really fast and usually boom at the end". Although, I did try to suggest tying them to our test manikins' feet, and I would have claimed the "fastest pair of boots in the thunderdome"! And since I’m working from home, that means they weren’t actually on my feet that much. Just a handful of miles each day walking the dogs.
