Service Boot

Each boot is handcrafted by a single artisan from start to finish. The design draws inspiration from service boots developed for hard work and industrial workers in the early 1900s, which were later adopted by military forces during WWI and WWII.

The 1943 Service Boots feature Goodyear welted construction, connecting the upper to the sole through a welt that allows for resoling. The boot uses a historically inspired last that combines design elements from both WWI and WWII periods. A structured toe gradually flattens over time, developing vintage patina as the boots age.

Historically accurate copper rivets reinforce the vamp and quarters, adding both functional strength and period-correct detailing. The boots include waxed nylon laces and ship with an optional vegetable-tanned leather insert, straight-cut and 3-4mm thick without additional cushioning.

The upper is constructed from 5 oz (2mm) thick oil-tanned full-grain buffalo leather, with a lining made from 3 oz (1.4mm) thick leather. The insole consists of 10 oz (approximately 4mm) thick full vegetable-tanned leather, while the midsole uses matching 10 oz full vegetable-tanned leather with an embedded steel shank for structural support.

The footbed features 100 percent natural cork for cushioning. A sock liner combines 2mm thick cushioned EVA topped with 1mm thick genuine leather. The outsole is a commando half-sole made from 100 percent solid rubber, providing traction and durability.

The 1943 Service Boots retail for $289.99 USD and are available in US sizes seven through 13, including half sizes. The boots are made to order with approximately 18 working days production time, followed by an additional two to seven days for delivery post-dispatch depending on location.
