The Bull Run moc toe boots are built in the United States with dedication to quality dating back to 1932. The line represents a utilitarian work boot design with traditional styling that transitions from job sites to casual wear. Danner sources materials globally and utilizes overseas construction work before shipping partially assembled components to the Portland, Oregon factory for finishing. Boot uppers are formed and the entire bottom of each boot is constructed by hand in the Portland facility, providing greater control over the finished product while allowing delivery of less expensive USA-made boots without compromising quality.

The Bull Run series is available in multiple configurations including 6-inch and 8-inch heights. Color options include Brown, Black, and Tobacco. Models are offered with or without steel toe protection, and some feature GORE-TEX waterproofing for weather resistance.

The Cedar River line features Goodyear welt construction, which creates a stable and long-lasting attachment of the outsole to the upper with durability comparable to stitchdown construction. The series includes both work boot and hunting boot configurations, with models available in 6-inch and 8-inch heights. Cedar River boots feature Danner Dry waterproof lining that creates a 100 percent waterproof barrier while allowing moisture to escape. Some models are available with aluminum alloy toe protection.

Danner employs two distinct construction methods across the moc toe lines. The Bull Run uses handcrafted stitchdown construction offering increased stability underfoot. This construction creates a wider platform compared to other methods, and many stitchdown boots can be recrafted for extended service life.

The Cedar River features Goodyear welt construction using a durable rubber outsole attached through the welting process. This construction method offers comparable durability and longevity to stitchdown techniques.

Both moc toe lines utilize full-grain leather uppers that are strong yet supple. The Bull Run features oil-tanned full-grain leather sourced from the top layer of animal hide. The oil tanning process makes the leather more resistant to water and liquid damage while requiring less maintenance over time. Bull Run boots use unlined leather construction that allows the boots to mold to the wearer's foot.

The Cedar River uses durable and water-resistant premium leather for the upper construction, combined with the waterproof Danner Dry lining system.

The moc toe boots incorporate multiple comfort technologies. Both lines feature multi-layer footbeds with varying density for cushioning and support. The entire footbed is made of open-cell polyurethane for better heat dissipation and air circulation. The Bull Run specifically uses an OrthoLite footbed paired with a steel shank for arch support.

Cedar River models include a cushioning open-cell OrthoLite footbed and feature a PU midsole with wedge design that reduces underfoot pressure points. Cedar River boots also incorporate a padded collar for additional comfort around the ankle.

The Bull Run series features the non-marking, oil-and-slip resistant Danner Wedge outsole. This sole provides cushioning, lightweight support, and traction without tracking debris. The soft polyurethane compound is designed for comfort during long days on smooth indoor surfaces such as concrete and wood.

The Cedar River uses a durable rubber outsole that is non-marking and oil-and-slip-resistant, offering confident traction and all-day comfort on hard surfaces.

Danner moc toe boots meet various safety certifications depending on the model. Standard soft toe versions are built with non-conductive soles to help protect against electrical shock in dry conditions, meeting ASTM F2892 safety standards for plain toe footwear electrical hazard resistance.

Steel toe versions of the Bull Run meet ASTM F2413 standards for impact and compression resistance. Cedar River models with aluminum alloy toes meet or exceed ASTM F2413-18 I/75 C/75 EH standards, providing impact protection, compression resistance, and electrical hazard protection.

All Danner moc toe boots are built on the Portland-made 503 last, which has a casual fit while maintaining comfortable lace-to-toe construction. The boots fit true to size with no need to order differently than standard shoe sizing. Cedar River models are available in both regular (D) and wide (EE) width options to accommodate different foot shapes.

Weight varies by model and configuration. The Cedar River 6-inch work boot weighs 59 ounces, the 6-inch alloy toe version weighs 64 ounces, and the 8-inch alloy toe model weighs 69 ounces.

Danner offers a 365-day warranty across the entire footwear and apparel lines. The service life of stitchdown-constructed boots can be extended through Danner's recrafting services, which include part replacement, leather care, and restitching. This program allows owners to maintain their boots rather than replacing them when worn.
