The Ryker AT is a canvas and leather work boot manufactured by Frank's Boots. Featuring heavy duty cotton duck canvas uppers combined with leather lower sections, the Ryker AT is lighter in weight than other models in the Frank's lineup while maintaining durability for demanding work environments. The boot is available with extensive customization options, allowing customers to select canvas colors, leather types, stitching colors, and hardware finishes.
Frank's Boots, founded in 2016 in Spokane, Washington by Frank Petrilli, specializes in custom-fit work boots for wildland firefighters, construction workers, loggers, and other demanding professions. The company's boots are handcrafted using traditional techniques by skilled artisans at the Spokane facility.
The Ryker AT features cotton duck canvas for the upper shaft. Cotton duck is a heavy-duty, tightly woven canvas fabric that takes its name from the Dutch word "doek," which refers to linen canvas. Despite its name, the material is made from cotton rather than linen. The fabric has a relatively smooth surface that resists snagging and tearing. Cotton duck ranks second only to leather among traditional workwear fabrics in its ability to block wind and resist damage from abrasion.
Frank's Boots constructs the Ryker AT with 7.5 to 8-ounce full grain water-resistant leather for the lower sections and reinforcements. The company's standard construction incorporates higher heel and arch support designed to balance body weight during extended wear periods.
The manufacturing process follows traditional handcrafted methods. Construction and repair work is performed entirely by hand using classic tools including nippers and lasting pliers. Each boot is constructed by artisans at the company's Spokane facility located at 3805 North Market Street.
The Build Your Own customization system allows customers to select their preferred canvas color, leather type and color for the lower sections, stitching color, hooks and eyes, and other hardware finishes. Additional customization options including different sole types, heel configurations, and build specifications are available through phone orders. Some canvas colors not shown in the online builder are also available by phone request.
The Ryker AT has a regular price of $585. In-stock variants such as the lace-to-toe version have been listed at $525 depending on specific configuration and availability.
