The 3.5-4 oz full-grain double shoulder leather features a smooth grain surface with oily pull-up characteristics, making it suitable for leather goods, footwear, and accessories that benefit from natural aging properties.

Grind Natural is a 3.5-4 oz (approximately 1.4-1.6 mm thickness) full-grain double shoulder leather with medium to firm temper. The full-grain double shoulder cut excludes the belly portion, providing better yield and more consistent quality across the hide.

The leather features a smooth grain surface finished with an oily pull-up treatment. This finish creates a characteristic effect where the leather lightens in color when bent or pulled, adding visual depth and dimension to the material. The natural colorway uses minimal dye, allowing the leather's inherent tones to dominate the appearance.

As a natural material, Grind Natural may exhibit stretch marks, fat lines, scars, and occasional brand marks typical of genuine full-grain leather. These natural variations are considered signs of quality rather than defects, demonstrating the leather's authentic origins.

Grind Natural is produced by Conceria Puccini Attilio, founded in 1986 by Attilio Puccini in Ponte a Egola, Tuscany. Attilio Puccini began working in tanneries at age 14 in 1950, gaining experience in bovine vegetable-tanned leather before opening his own tannery. The tannery is currently managed by his son Marco and daughter Sandra, maintaining the family's commitment to traditional vegetable tanning methods.

The tannery is a founding member of the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale (The Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium), which certifies authentic Tuscan vegetable-tanned leather production. This membership reflects the tannery's adherence to traditional methods and quality standards established by the consortium.

Grind Natural develops a natural patina over time through use and exposure to oils from handling. This aging process is inherent to vegetable-tanned leather and causes the material to darken and develop depth of color, creating a unique appearance that reflects the item's history of use.

The oily pull-up finish enhances the leather's visual character by creating color variation when the material is flexed or stressed. These temporary color changes add dimensionality to finished goods and become more pronounced as the leather ages and develops patina.

The natural colorway allows the leather's inherent characteristics to remain visible throughout its life. Unlike heavily dyed leathers that can mask surface variations, Grind Natural showcases the full grain's natural texture, including the pores, wrinkles, and subtle color variations that make each hide unique.

Grind Natural is one of six colors in the Grind leather line, alongside Moss Green, Ruggine (rust tone), Dark Brown, Black, and Red. The leather is sold by square footage through leather suppliers, with sizes available in 1, 3, 5, 10, and 15 square foot increments.

Pricing for the Natural colorway is $24.20 CAD per square foot for single square foot purchases, with volume discounts available for larger quantities. The leather is marketed toward leather crafters, artisans, and manufacturers producing bags, leather goods, footwear, belts, and accessories.
