Grazier

The Grazier represents the company's approach to combining traditional Australian bootmaking heritage with modern comfort features. Its construction method and materials reflect over a century of manufacturing experience by Harold Boot Company, which has produced footwear in Australia since the late 1890s.

The Grazier employs Fairstitch Welt construction, a method unique to Harold Boot Company also known as stitch and sewn construction. This technique creates a particularly strong bond between the boot's components through multiple attachment points.

The construction process begins with the Australian leather upper being cement lasted to a butt leather insole that has Poron foam laminated to it. Cork filling is applied to the cavity, and a carbon fiber molded shank is attached. An oak-tanned butt leather midsole is then laminated to the base of the boot and Blake stitched internally, sewn through to the leather insole.

The cork rubber sole attaches to the leather midsole, with both the midsole and sole brass wire screwed to the base of the boot through to the leather insole. This creates a sandwiching effect that strengthens the overall structure. The heel is glued and screw nailed to complete the assembly.

The upper consists of a one-piece construction made from 1.2mm Australian yearling calf leather, with matching full leather lining. The single-piece design eliminates side seams, with only a back seam that is reinforced with frenching tape. All upper stitching uses 60 bonded nylon rot-free thread.

The elastic side gussets feature double weave construction with 100 percent rubber covering for water resistance. The sole and heel are made from oil-resistant cork rubber compound, while the insole and midsole use oak-tanned molded butt leather. The stacked leather heel features a slight chisel toe design.

Internal components include a molded carbon fiber and fiberglass shank for structural support, with some variants using a hardened steel shank. A full Poron-padded footbed provides cushioning, complemented by a three-quarter leather sock.

The Grazier follows the classic Chelsea boot silhouette with elastic side gussets for easy entry. Branded finger pull tabs appear at both the front and rear of the boot shaft. The slight chisel toe and stacked leather heel create a refined profile suitable for both dress and casual wear.

The one-piece upper construction, combined with full leather lining, allows the boot to breathe while maintaining its structure. The design serves dual purposes, functioning as a dress shoe while the cork sole and reinforced shank provide durability for more demanding environments.

The Grazier is manufactured in an EEE width fitting, equivalent to an H width in the R.M. Williams Craftsman boot sizing. Sizes are designated in UK/AUS measurements and range from four to 15, with half sizes available. The wider fitting accommodates most foot shapes, though customers with particularly narrow feet may benefit from selecting a half size down.

Harold Boot Company offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturing faults on the Grazier, covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty reflects the company's confidence in the Fairstitch Welt construction method and quality of materials used in production.
