No longer owned due to quality issues: Redwing is a brand I fell in love with due to their story and heritage. I went to three RW stores across 4 counties trying to find an Iron Ranger that didn’t look like it was sloppily assembled with haste.
Verdict: the 3 Iron Rangers and 1 Beckman Flatbox 9060’s I purchased and returned weren’t defects or Factory Seconds it’s just how RW makes boots.
Pros: can be purchased at any Redwing store. Classic design from American Company.
Cons: never heard of a midsole. Cork is its biggest flex. Feels like walking on a rubber plank—because you are. Never heard of arch support. Costs about 3x more than it is worth.
Verdict: I tried 3 different pairs of Iron Rangers and the coveted Beckman Flatbox 9060 which is supposed to be Redwing’s magnum opus. Fit and finish and materials used are trash and I will never buy another Redwing again.
