History
In 2008, Julia "Jules" Vagelatos began making leather accessories in Whistler, British Columbia. She started with belts and later added bags and jewelry. In 2010, Joshua Blodans joined the venture, shifting production toward footwear such as handcrafted boat shoes. By 2013, the business moved to Vancouver to expand operations.
Manufacturing
Love Jules operates from a 1,500 square foot studio located within the Vancouver Community Laboratory. The company maintains a production team that ranges in size from three to five people based on current needs.
Construction and materials
The company sources leather from Horween Leather Company and Charles F. Stead. Love Jules uses hand-welted construction for its footwear, with some models featuring wooden peg sole construction. The range includes various sole and heel profiles.
