The Uptown Boot is a six-inch heritage boot model manufactured by Mark Albert Boots, an American footwear brand based in Somerset, Pennsylvania. The boot features 360-degree Goodyear welt construction and was one of the first styles offered by the brand.
The Uptown Boot features a six-inch height with a vaguely vintage military look characteristic of Mark Albert designs.[1] The design includes a flatter heel profile compared to other models in the Mark Albert product line.[1]
The Uptown Boot employs 360-degree Goodyear welt construction, making it fully resoleable.[1][2] The boot includes a leather insole and Vibram 430 outsole.[2] The design features an unstructured toe box with reinforced backing, providing flexibility while maintaining shape.[2]
The Uptown Boot features full-grain American-tanned leather.[1] Mark Albert uses all leather in their construction.[1] A Rust Kudu variant uses waxy Antelope (Kudu) leather sourced from C.F. Stead Tannery in England, known for its rich color and unique patina development with wear.[2]
The Uptown Boot was among the first styles introduced when Mark Albert Barbera founded the company following a successful Kickstarter campaign.[1] Barbera started the brand when looking for the perfect Chelsea boot during college.[1]
Production takes place at a factory in Somerset, Pennsylvania that has been operational since 1948 with approximately 50 employees.[1]
The Uptown Boot was priced under $300.[1] The Rust Kudu variant retailed for approximately 270 euros.[2]
Mark Albert recommended sizing down one full size from standard athletic shoe sizing for the Uptown Boot.[1] All standard sizes were offered in D width only.[1]
