Paul Stuart was founded by Ralph Ostrove and named after his son, Paul Stuart Ostrove. The brand began operating from its original New York City flagship on March 7, 1938. In 2012, the company was acquired by Mitsui & Co., Ltd., which had served as its long-time partner and licensee in Japan.

Manufacturing

Paul Stuart footwear is produced in Italy and England. The company has focused its production on locations known for shoemaking traditions in Europe.
