Got the boondocker itch and decided to get an MTO from Fortis for all purpose wear. Main motivation was to try out waxed roughout for durability and style.
Sany from Fortis shared an instructional on how to measure my feet across: length, width, ball width, in step, long heel and ankle. Not sure if any last modifications was done or if it was a straight match.
The initial order was straightforward as I had all the specs I wanted down. DMed Fortis on IG and they were very responsive to my questions. However, after that - there were several delays with constant chasing post-deadline with no responses. Was initially quoted 6-8 weeks but order took 12 weeks. Pretty short as compared to the other horror stories I’ve read on the discord. It wasn’t the delays that bothered me but the lack of responses and expectation management. At some point I felt ghosted and had to reach out via WhatsApp, which got me a fast response since I guess they assumed it was a new customer. This actually isn’t a hard thing to solve. Quote timelines accurately and respond accordingly if there are unfortunate delays. When the boots finally arrived, I was relieved and very happy with the presentation, great box with boot bags and many laces.
