Unfortunately these are going back to the retailer for loose grain and ill aligned facings resulting in two small slits on each side of the vamp—where the facings attach to the vamp on each side of the base of the tongue. The retailer was very understanding and has offered me a refund or exchange. Since this is their last pair in my size in this colorway, so I exchanged them for a dark olive pair. The dark olive pair had all of the same issues in addition to unusual dark spots in the leather that could best be described as “bruises”. They didn’t have time to take pictures because as soon as I saw the issues I notified the retailer and sent those back for a refund. The CXL lottery is a myth. High quality CXL should not have loose grain. None of my Vibergs in CXL have loose grains. Needless to say, John Lofgren Boots is now added to my list of manufacturers I will not buy from again. Fool me once…

Perfect fit! 0.5 down. Others recommend 1.0 down but that would’ve been much too small, for me.
