Unfortunately these are going back to the retailer for loose grain and ill aligned facings resulting in two small slits on each side of the vamp—where the facings attach to the vamp on each side of the base of the tongue. The retailer was very understanding and has offered me a refund or exchange. Since this is their last pair in my size in this colorway, I’ll be getting a dark olive pair. The CXL lottery is a myth. High quality CXL should not have loose grain. None of my Vibergs in CXL have loose grains.
