I put these boots through a lot this past month. I attended a training exercise where I walked about 57 miles in 5 days through swamp, woods, field, and a lot of briars. The boots were soaked most of the time. The wet and softened leather took a beating going through the thorns and accumulated a lot of micro scratches. Rotating wool socks out twice per day saved my feet. I did have four hours midway through the week where I had time to let the boots dry outside in the sun and that showed me how many oils had been sucked out of the chromexcel. After the exercise, I conditioned the boots; it couldn’t wait for my monthly thunderdome submission. However, I did get the time to brush the boots for a couple hours before snapping my photos. Looking over the past 6 months of monthly photos, I’ve been amazed to see the transformation of these 365 Stitchdowns.

Nicks Handmade Boots
365 Stitchdown MTO
US Men's Brannock: 12D
HNW Moderate Arch Standard Toe Last: 11.5D
Purchased half a size down from my brannock as recommended (not in width though) and I think that’s pretty accurate in this last. A C width in the thurman hnw last might have been better though.

Personally wanted something 100% constructed in the US with 100% US-sourced materials. Job requirements were that the boots had to be black in color, have a polishable toe, provide good ankle support, be made of a predominantly leather upper, and be EH rated.
Followed online sizing guide. Half a size down from brannock.
Once I watched a few videos and read the buying guide, I understood all the store options well enough to make the order.
