Nicks Tanker Pro 10 Inch Horween Predator Orange HNW Moc-toe Nicks Black Wedge Initial impressions These boots represent a number of firsts for me, virtually the entire makeup is something I have not had before & am excited to add to my growing boot collection. Nicks construction is flawless and these are no different, not a single issue, built like a panzer, so your typical Nicks. Look & feel They give off kind of a mid-evil dragon slayer vibe, so cool-ness factor is a check. Predator very flexible out of the gate, so they really feel good on the feet even on day 1. The wedge helps with weight & I'm surprised at how quite the wedge is, no clomping around even though these are large boots 10 Inch boots. Predator paired with wedge is maybe one of the lightest 10 Inch boots you can make and helps wearability without a doubt. Leather Predator Orange is a fantastic leather, what is interesting about this pair it the moc-toe means less pull up on the toe, which I think leads these to be a bit darker in overall color to some Predator Orange I've seen, which I really dig and think will have some effects on the overall patina process. Model & Sole I've always wanted to have a pair of tankers, these straps are the star of the show & I can tell already there is some nuance to the wrapping & tightness you can play with for different uses. The black wedge is interesting, so far I have been enjoying it. Paring the black wedge with a black welt really helps with cohesion in my mind. I'm curious how much traction a wedge really has, we will find out!
