Had a tiny amount of heel slip when I first bought them but after a few days of wear the boot broke in and the heel slip went away. Break-in was relatively easy for this boot. No major discomfort.

Style

I saw several photos and posts of the boot and really liked the light color of the Abilene. It seemed like a perfect boot to daily for the thunderdome since it could pair well with most denim and pant colors. I also enjoyed how the boot patinas even though it’s a Roughout.

I used a combination of sources to determine my size, I looked up comments on Reddit, took advice from YouTube videos, and compared their comments to how I fit in other boots. Ultimately I went into my local Red Wing store to try on another boot with the 23 last (they didn’t have the Abilene in stock).
