I put these boots to the test over the last month. I wore them everyday - hiked in them, hunted in them, collected firewood in them, wore them to the office, and everything in-between. Hunting season is over for me and winter is setting in for the next 5 months here at altitude in the Rockies. I suspect this is the extent of the scratches I'll see on the leather, but hope to continue to see some great patina develop. There was literally zero break in period. They wear different than PNW boots - you feel more in tune with the ground. I might just be a Mid-West Boot man now.

Russell Moccasin Co. Double Vamp Last: 10D
I used the websites virtual sizing device a few times and it gave me a few different recommendations. However, I did find their size chart useful. Half size down from brannock worked for me.

I wanted an easy wearing everyday boot. Something that I could wear outside, but also would work in town. If I'm being honest, I was also a bit burnt out on the break in and plank feel of PNW style boots and wanted to try something different. The true moc construction and the history of the brand both led me to the purchase.
I used the virtual sizing tool on Russel's website - it gave me a few different recommendations, so I didn't have much faith in it. Ultimately, I found the sizing charts to be useful. They put me at a 10D (half size down from brannock) which worked for me.
I ordered in stock boots from their website and received them a week or so later. Super easy.
