C.F. Stead’s Crazy Cow is a unique version of a clear coated waxed flesh that maintains the leather’s natural veining and scarring marks giving it a lot of character. It has a variety of textures and a wide variation of color with a mildly glossy finish in some areas. I’ve read that Crazy Cow was tanned to be a tougher more resilient leather but once broken in its surprisingly supple and comfortable. The 55 Last is a game changer for me, it perfectly accommodates my high arches and is the most comfortable footwear I’ve ever owned.
Why I own this
I had been dreaming up these specs for many months. Lace to toe is probably my favorite style, and White’s makes my favorite version, I just prefer their stitching patterns and their builds are as solid as you can get. In hindsight I think a moderate dogger heel would have been a better choice and maybe even removing one layer from the heel stack, but I’ll make those changes down the line when they need to be resoled, if I still feel that way.
