A dream pair in the making. I’m gifting these boots to myself for my birthday this month, a special pair to mark my 30th year. That felt like the right moment to go with Maryam horserump, with shell on the vamps and toe boxes. This is my first time owning boots made from horse leather. Since this pair is a milestone, I decided to experiment and document what I call the “Earth Journey.” I wanted a brown boot with real depth,something that would evolve dramatically with wear. The idea starts with an olive base overdyed in dark brown. Maryam’s olive horsebutt begins as a deep green and naturally ages into a rich, earthy brown on its own, which is already beautiful. But I wanted to take that further—starting with a dark brown upfront, letting it fade over time to reveal those olive tones beneath, before eventually settling into its natural brown again. That full transformation is the journey I’m excited to experience.
