Satisfied with the Fit

I sized these closer to TTS and it was perfect. In my experience, Alden flat welt modes fit a little more snug than other Alden welt types (🤷‍♂️).

People dog on the Alden commando sole but I like it and find it very versatile for any situation.

Final thoughts

Would Recommend

I’d been wanting this Alden makeup for a while, and after waiting about 10 months for it to come back in stock, my pair arrived just before the Thunderdome late entry. I’ve worn them almost daily since then. As with almost every Alden boot I’ve had, this pair was instantly comfortable and required virtually no break-in. Also, like many Alden pairs I’ve had, the CXL was a little inconsistent: pristine in some areas and a little unsightly in others, not to mention a slightly different shade between the two boots! It was an exercise in acceptance, and after a period of time I stopped worrying about it. These boots feel like socks at this point and yet also feel like they will last for many years to come. Overall, I’m very pleased.
