More about this item

Hi, my name is Blaise, I'm an amateur boot maker. I'm calling this boot the Traveler Chukka. I made them with the intention to create a good all around boot. Something that looked good and could take a lickin' and keep on kickin'. Time will tell but I'm sure excited to wear them for the dome! Lets go!

Why I own this

Custom

I wanted to make a clean stylish looking boot that would be hardwearing and comfortable.

How I sized

Compared to Other Lasts

I made some changes to an existing last based on another I had used with some success.

Ordering process

Custom made by me for my own use.

Use & wear

I've worn these nearly daily, and as a welder fabricator by trade they have been subjected to long days on concrete floors, weld spatter and sparks, and just the daily grind of the workshop.

Leather

Grease Trap Grey Nubuck

To my surprise this leather faded out a bit and really took on a nice texture and color, I thought for sure it would darken and get kinda grimy greasy due to the environment.

Fit

Honestly they run a bit smaller than I would have liked, wish I sized up.

Craftsmanship

Blaise Boot Co. Traveler Chukka

Nailed it on all fronts in my book but Id like some modification to the last to get a better shaped toe box.

Sole & heel

Not bad, its a very tough sole but not easy to break in, after six months it still feels really stiff!

Final thoughts

Can't wait for the next dome, this was a fun challenge!
