I wore them at my warehouse job, on wet hikes, to do muddy yard work, on walks with the dogs, in the snow
The leather darkened a ton especially the last couple of months. They were pretty comfortable right out the gate. Around the ankles was the most stiff at first but didn’t take long to soften up. I would occasionally use saddle soap and then LP oil afterwards. In the worst part of winter I used a bit of a vinegar/water mix to try and get the salt off.
Due to these being an already made pair that had been returned by the initial customer, these were probably a half size bigger than I normally would get. But they ended up fitting great. I actually liked having a bit more room. My feet are shaped weird and are usually tight around the toes. Sizing up gave me enough room to have minimal rub on my feet. They would hurt my feet some if I was at work and moving more than normal (13-15K steps in a day), but overall not bad. The best part was never needing to try and put insoles in these boots. They seemed to conform to my foot well and I only ever had the built in insoles.
Everything held up great for the 6 months. The only cosmetic problem I had was with the boot lace grommets. The metal reacted to either the soap or oil I used early on and had these dark brown bleed circles around most of them, which was a bummer. But it wasn’t on the whole boot. So not sure what happened when this occurred if there was something else on my boots that day I cleaned them. There is a little bit of separation in the toe box portion of the soles. But nothing that seems concerning as far as longevity of the boot overall. For the amount of abuse these took I feel like they held up wonderfully.
I was overall impressed with my pair of Cordobes boots. Especially at the price I paid. I feel like these were an absolute steal at $230. I got lots of compliments along the way on these.
