Workplace Needs

I am a West Coast logger, so I always have gravitated to this style of boot, whether working or just running around town. I have been wearing this style boot for 32 years. I have never had a fit like I have in these boots, though.

Recommendation for Foot Shape

The sizing was done by tracing my socked feet onto a piece of paper, then a rule put next to it for scale. We also took pictures of the arches of my feet. These boots are pretty much bespoke with custom arch support. These are best fitting footwear I have ever had.

Ordering process

I met Sany from Fortis online and became online friends that talk quite often. I ordered a pair of boots prior to this pair from them, so there were no surprises . It's an excellent experience with no stress ordering from Fortis.

Fit

Out of all my boots, these are by far the most comfortable, easiest to break in pair I have ever owned. The upgraded arch support from my last pair of Fortis boots was a really huge game changer.

Sole & heel

The sole shows very little wear considering the hours I have put on these boots. Mostly due to terrain, which is mostly gravel and dirt.

Final thoughts

This was a very important experience for me. I'm struggling to finish it. Major changes occurred in my life during this competition, and if it wasn't for things like this and denim, I could have easily lost myself.

I work on my feet and walk a lot, I averaged right at 6 miles a day per wear for a total of 859 miles in the six months of the competition. I would occasionally go on light hikes in them to see the surrounding marshland we have here in southeast Texas. My biggest passion in life is dancing and during the thunderdome I went dancing 45 times in these boots, and with a total of 143 wears, this means roughly 30% of my wears involved dancing at some point. And they danced and walked of course here locally, but also saw trips to New York City and Japan! In my two weeks in Japan they had well over 100 miles of wear, 4 salsa nights, and countless memories made there. They hiked along a rocky shore in Wakayama, crossed through the Shibuya scramble, climbed hundreds of flights of stairs, drunkenly walked through Golden Gai and Dotonburi, ran 6 miles through the rain when I missed the train back to my hotel from Shinjuku to Nippori. A Life Changing Pair

Fortis Tapak 2.0 Engineer Boots in Indonesian Dark Brown Pull Up
By KVanDev • April 5, 2024"These boots went pretty much everywhere with me and did whatever I needed them to do, and did it well. They were great for just tossing on to run out to do a quick errand, work and stand on concrete for eight hours, walking 10+ miles in, hiking on trails, dancing cumbia and bachata on the dance floor, and so many other things. They handled everything well. Water was never an issue with them either, as they on several occasions held up and kept my feet dry in nearly calf deep water during some extremely heavy rain. I walked over 650 miles in these boots, wore them 161 out of the possible 183 days, went dancing 20 times in them and they just took it all and looked good while doing it. They will continue to see many more things, including in May they will be on my feet as I graduate from college, plenty more shifts at work, and of course more dance floors...."Read the full review
