Grant Stone
Diesel Boot
US Men's Brannock: 10.5EE
Leo Last: 10.5EEE
Tight on top of heel. Heel cup fits nicely. Plenty of room in ball of foot. Arch support feels great. A little long for 10.5, but feels/looks great. I have a super wide, low volume foot. Very little room between laces after tightening boots.

Cost: 500 USD
Mainly office. Lots of airports. Some factory floors. Around town and the yard.
Break in was easy enough. Darkened up quite a bit. Stayed tough. Only conditioned twice: at 4 months in with some Red Wing conditioner, then again at 5 months with some dawn dish soap and mink oil due to a motor oil incident. Actually turned out better than before after I thought I ruined my nice boots.
Fit great! Love that Grant Stone offers EEE. I have a very wide foot (98th percentile when I got them measured). Heel cup a little loose, to be expected. After some kilties, the uppers feel tight enough. Comfortable enough to walk miles on cobblestone.
Very impressed with the quality. Coming from Red Wings, I’m a bit spoiled to good quality, but these still exceeded my expectations. Have some very light fraying of stitching at the end of the stitch, nothing major. Welt stitching is tight and uniform. Very handsome boot, accomplished the goal I had to them. Held up with daily use well.
Very durable soles. Minimal wear considering what I put them through, while still being soft enough to wear for miles of walking. Got plenty of traction on pavement and concrete floors. Not the best “off road” but they’re better than they have a right to be in that category.
Some boots are chosen. These weren’t. My wife picked them because I needed something for executive meetings. At first, they were just a clean, professional pair of boots. Since October, they’ve been everywhere with me. Cobblestone streets in Europe, dusty sidewalks in Mexico, snow in Michigan, and daily life in South Carolina. Airports too, where I’ve held up more than a few lines taking them off at TSA. They’ve seen office days and factory floors. I tried to care of them, but not everything goes to plan. After some yard work, I spilled used motor oil on them. Thought I ruined them. Cleaned them with dish soap, then conditioned with mink oil. The stains didn’t go away; they blended in. The leather darkened, started to actually get some pull up and they ended up looking better than before. Blessings in disguise I suppose. These boots started as something to look the part. And I’ve noticed that on too many occasions I look down admiring them rather than looking where I’m going. I would recommend anyone Grant Stones, in fact, I already have!
