I have done 10+ mile hikes in these boots at Bryce Canyon National Park (the first day I wore them--bad idea), Zion National Park, Dixie National Forest, Fishlake National Forest, Redcliffs National Conservation Area, Snow Canyon State Park, and the Canaan Wilderness.
On top of the hundreds of thousands of miles of hiking they endured, I also took them snowshoeing. Worst of all these boots were worn to teach college students and do academic research.

From the wooded and rocky areas of Sardinia, with dust, sea, sand and mud, to the mountains of Trentino where there were heavy snowfalls and temperatures even at minus 15. I tend not to use heavy socks and I still found them good in both area.
I have also used them to work both in the evening at the reception of a restaurant, and as a shiatsu masseur in various hotels in Trentino, and for pleasure trips in the city.

It changes with every brush, and it takes to brushing and conditioning like nothing I’ve ever seen. It’s slow to soften up at break-in, taking almost four months before it was feeling soft as butter all around, but this is a testament to its strength. Consider conditioning these regularly after the first few months. The Veg tan will thank you.
