I beat the shit out of these as much as one can in NYC. To the office, through long Central Park walks, through bar nights. They’ve seen them all in their short life. I did put them away from snow though, leather soles.
Leather evolved better than I anticipated. Its mainstream designer leather, build quality is a tertiary concern for the manufacturers, so I was judicious on protecting the boots from the elements, adding heel taps eventually. The leather stacking adds to the aesthetic, the metal toes and hardware patinaed beautifully. Relative to other designer footwear leather products from Gucci this one was the outlier as the leather was thick and quality and I do think with proper time these will continue to age well.
Design is 11/10 for me. A more avant garde look with a designer eye. Hardware is thick brass, toe thick and sturdy metal as well. Construction 6/10 relative to GYW. I expected this, so wasn’t too disappointed. But even after Patina Thunderdome, ta cobbler will need to repair some of the stitching. The leather sole was way way better than I anticipated and held up really well.
I overpaid for a pair of badass designer western harness boots and really happy with them. This was a purely aesthetic purchase and the patina thunderdome really pushed the boots limits and let me explore some of my own style choices with the consistency of wearing these boots. Good value ? No Would recommend ? Probably not Did I get happiness out of wearing these boots consistently? Hell ya.
