I wanted boots with individuality to represent me, and quality to represent my heritage as a fourth-generation Texan.
Every boot can feel a bit different, but the boot mavens at Heritage Boot can set you up!
The boot mavens at Heritage Boot are the best. They know boots and fit, and are the best ambassadors for Austin.
I have worn these off and on for the past eight years, usually to the office, but occasionally on walks (including in parks and through the dirty subway). I’ve only had a few cowboy boots in my life, but these are an art piece, made to be worn and represented.
Aside from some scuff marks from poor gait, these look pretty much new. I’ve replaced the rubber part of the heel once, but haven’t polished or conditioned the leather at all. They fit right on the first fitting, and did not require any break-in period. All I did was walk around outside in the Texas summer heat and let sweat mold the leather. Super comfortable!
I wear these with boot socks, as one should. These are comfortable for cowboy boots. The pinky toes can feel pinched after a long day standing, and stacked heels can be rough on the posture and lower back, but other than that, these boots are my go-to.
These are handmade by third-generation artisans in León, Mexico, and sold by a small shop on South Congress in Austin, TX. They are pure quality. They may not be the look for everyone, but I love that I can wear them with blue or black jeans. Most boots are stamped and machine-sewn, but these are hand-tooled and laced by hand.
Slippery at first, but you’re supposed to scuff them as soon as you walk out the shop door. After that, they are fine. Don’t recommend wearing them on wet pavement, though.
The heels are fairly high. They’re not ropers. But if you want a traditional cowboy boot heel, you should know what you’re in for.
If you’re looking for offbeat but extremely well made boots with individuality, and have the confidence to rock them, I highly recommend these. I recommend anything from Heritage Boot Co. in Austin.
