Jakkrabbits Bootmaker
Officer Boots
US Men's Brannock: 9.5D
Hornady Last: 43D
I'm normally a 9.5D but since Jackrabbits doesn't offer half sizes, I rounded up. I'm glad I sized up a little bit as I like my boots a little roomier.
These boots mainly got relegated to date nights during the Dome. Always a joy to put on and wear out, but I just didn't have as many excuses to wear them as my main pair.
The Indonesian veg tan leather is still a little stiff and shiny. I should probably stop babying them but it's nice to have clean pair of boots too. I'm hoping with some work, the the blue dye will start to wear and dull a bit. I also hope the leather loosens up a bit as these are still a bit stiff given the veg tanned leather and lining.
I'm in between sizes with Jakkrabbits and most of their lasts since they only offer whole sizes. I sized up and these fit really well with a thick pair of socks. Jakkrabbits uses a really nice, soft (I'm guessing Poron or similar) insole. All in all, very comfy.
This is where these boots really shine. For $350, you'd be hard pressed to get a nicer pair of boots. The stitching is impeccable, the leather quality is really high, the details are very well-executed. I have zero complaints about the craftsmanship of these beautiful boots.
Very happy with the Dr Sole Supergrip sole. This was my first experience with them and I'm impressed with the level of grip and comfort these offer.
Bottom line, I really like these boots and my only complaints come from me not committing to wearing them more. Maybe they'll see a return in the next round of the pre-worn Dome! I also recommend Jakkrabbits as a bootmaker. The level of customization for the money is unparalleled!
