African Ranger – Leather Midsole
US Men's Brannock: 11.5E
STC Last: 11.5
Put in a slightly thicker insole and a adhesive heel pad.
I bought 11.5, I can live with that choice but I would go a half size smaller if I had a do over. It’s nothing slightly thicker socks, or thicker insole and a heel pad didn’t solve perfectly.

We were taking a family trip to visit Rocky Mountain National Park and a desperately needed a new pair of hiking boots and in a hurry. I wanted an easy break-in and packabity. Also I think they look cool. I got the veg tan mid sole, I wanted the confirm to foot feature.
They are supposed to be true to Brannock size. And the are close, I think my shoe sized has shrunk recently. I was happy enough either way the size so I kept them, if I had it to do again I’d get size 11s.
Easy breezy ordering. The shipping was also a breeze.
A Simple Solid Boot
I love this leather. It was soft and comfortable right of the box. And it’s only improved since I bought them almost a year ago. It’s very breathable but porous. Great for dry hot weather. I didn’t wear them as much during the snowy months because of it. I looking forward to wearing my them again probably startng in May and having them be my go to summer boot. Give the softness they pack up well in a suitcase with no ill effects. I might have sprayed them once either a suede conditioner. A dry brush is about all you need.
I love that there is so much room in the toe box but the rest of the boot feels snug to the foot. I can’t comment too much about it. I’ve lost a considerable amount of weight since I bought them and they now feel a little loose. I’m thinking about getting a new pair a half size down.
They are meant to be a ln inexpensive high production boot. That doesn’t take away from the quality or the construction. There are no corners cut with how it was made or the quality of the materials.
The sole material gets worn down past on pavement but walking through the wilderness the sold made all day walking at Rocky Mointain National Park a breeze.
